I was in Claysburg for a week with seven others and wanted to find a diner-like restaurant because we're from Jersey, and Spring House Family Restaurant really hit the spot for us. Almost all the food was good, decently large portions and cheap. Service was pretty good and it's a pretty large joint for bigger groups as well. I had the meatloaf special, which was great, and the burgers were really good too. If you have a chance to try their honey mustard, it's probably the best honey mustard I've ever had. One of my friends had the fried oysters, which weren't very good, but you can't expect to have fresh oysters in the western Pennsylvania. Otherwise, the food was great. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was the oysters and because I've only been here once. Overall, the Spring House Family Restaurant is a great place if you're looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner for a great price.

Great for a bit to eat when you are out and about. A typical family diner. Very clean, with bright lighting and lots of open space. They usually have very good daily specials, and you can't beat the prices for the good-sized portions. Staff has always been very courteous and friendly. I have yet to be there when its really busy... its usually pretty tame. Great for family meals or a gathering of friends for coffee. Located in Roaring Spring just off of the main route 36. The food itself, is really, really good. Simple, but good.

Seems to be hit or miss. Some days the food and service are good and others substandard. I usually go for breakfast. The coffee is good, oatmeal just right, but the bacon is tasteless and like shoe leather. Wait staff are usually friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the one this morning was flat. Not too many places in the area for a sit down breakfast. I would drive to nearby Altoona for better quality.

Spring House is a typical little family diner located in quaint Roaring Springs, PA. We stopped in to grab a quick breakfast and some coffee before a big meeting over at the rock quarry. My over-easy eggs, bacon, and wheat toast were just right, and the coffee hit the spot. All around good place. BOTTOM LINE: Nice little diner... good eggs, good coffee, good service.

Been to this area a few times so thought I would give this a try. Omelette was good. Hash brown was like McDonalds (pre packaged). Service was just ok. Probably would go back, but not first choice.

2nd visit while visiting family in the area. 4 of 6 people had to send orders back. Terrible quality bacon. No matter if you order hash brown patties, they always serve unseasoned sliced "grilled potatoes". Would rather they bought better ingredients & got a decent cook, we'd be willing to pay more for edible food. Not any other dining choices in the area, and quite frankly we'll just skip breakfast next time we're there.
